Simbed Fruit & Vegetables Day

FRUITS VS VEGETABLES

Did you know that most of what we eat can be classified as either fruits or vegetables?

Here is a shocking fact:

Botanically Tomatoes, Rice and Corn can be classified as fruits while Potatoes, Yam and Onions are vegetables. Weird right? I was amazed when I found out about it too so I can relate.

Fruits and vegetables are classified from both a botanical and culinary/nutritional standpoint.

Botanically, fruits and vegetables are classified depending on which part of the plant they come from. A fruit develops from the flower of a plant, while the other edible parts of the plants are categorized as vegetables.

As we all know, nutritionally speaking fruits and vegetables are one of the most important food items we have as they build the immune system and keep us strong, fresh and healthy.

This year Simbed Learners School is living up to its name by helping the pupils learn the importance of eating healthy through an event tagged – SIMBED FRUIT AND VEGETABLES DAY.

Join us for this fruitastic event on Friday 4th February, 2022 to watch our pupils in a talkshow that will enlighten you on the difference between fruits and vegetables.
